Fly Fishing

The Finest Saltwater Fly Fishing on the Planet

Considered a fly angler's paradise, the expansive flats surrounding the Alphonse atolls provide the fly fishing experience of a lifetime. This spectacular wilderness has ten thousand acres of hard white sand flats which provide easy wading and world class sight-fishing. The Alphonse group is one of the most famed saltwater fly fishing destinations in the Indian Ocean and is one of the most prolific Bonefish fisheries in the world.

Bluewater Fishing

An Isolated and Undisturbed Angler’s Paradise

The unspoiled waters of Alphonse and St. François Atolls are home to the most incredible variety of bluewater fish species, translating into a great destination for offshore fishing. The structure and sheer drop-offs are ideal for attracting a variety of pelagic species that can be caught on fly as well as through conventional trawling methods. Alternative bluewater experiences that we offer include switch-and-bait as well as teasing for Sailfish, tuna and Wahoo, whilst offshore popping targeting pelagic species like tuna, Wahoo and Dorado is also possible. The reefs surrounding our atolls are fly-only zones, and fishing with any type of spinning gear is unfortunately not allowed at Alphonse. All fishing practised around our atoll is on a strict catch-and-release basis, except the small amounts that are caught for personal consumption.

Scuba Diving

An Untouched & Remote Underwater Wonderland

The sheer drop offs, rich currents and abundant sea life that surrounds the Alphonse group of atolls makes it one of the most exciting and diverse dive destinations in the Seychelles. The pristine sites around both Alphonse and St. François are famous not only for its warm water and great visibility, but also its unbleached corals and a diverse range of fish species comprising of reef, pelagic and shark species.

If you have never tried your hand at diving and you don’t want to commit to a full dive course without knowing whether you’d like it, don’t worry. Our Dive Centre offers a Discover Scuba PADI diving course where you can go on a controlled and guided introductory dive. This is also a great option if you have limited time, as there is no need for hours of theory due to the dive master controlling and guiding your dive.

Snorkelling

Exceptional Snorkelling in Pristine Waters

Due to its remote location, the waters surrounding the coral island of Alphonse is teeming with a variety of marine life which one will be hard-pressed to find around any other inhabited island in the Seychelles. Crystal clear warm water, unbleached and largely untouched corals, great visibility and a diverse range of fish species has become synonymous with both Alphonse and St. François due to the rich currents and abundant sea life that surrounds the Alphonse group of atolls.
